Well folks it looks like I will be moving out to colorful Colorado next year! No, its not for the herb.  I am excited to announce that I will be co-teaching for a full year at Boulder Country Day School. I will either be placed in the Kindergarten or 2nd grade classroom. Also during this time, I will be working on getting my Masters in Human Development from the University of Denver. I am beyond excited about this opportunity and feel this is the right move for me.

I went out to Colorado a few weeks ago to interview with a few schools that are apart of this teacher preparation program I applied to. Both schools were great, and I’m sure I would be happy at either one, but only one of them was able to accept me at this time. I am very early in the application process and they normally don’t hire until the spring time. I wanted to interview early since I will be in Patagonia in January and February. While I was out there, I got to meet current teacher candidates in the program, and they all spoke highly of it.  Everyone was so welcoming, and I could tell it was a tightly bonded group.

Apart from the business side of things, I got to meet a hiker friend Delilah out in Vail! I didn’t even know he lived out there, and thanks to facebook, he saw I was coming to CO and he invited me over. I had never been skiing out west before and it was great! If I did not have this trip to Patagonia planned, I could have seen myself staying there for the winter and working for the resort lol. It snowed a lot while I was there, and I was thankful I had upgraded to an AWD vehicle (although I still don’t understand how my rental car was more than my flight). Being at the resort made me miss working at Stratton.  I forgot how much I enjoy skiing. 15349802_10103096189403595_2187220403363651000_n15319123_10103101982888405_6272664219709672705_n

I have two weeks before I head down to Patagonia.  Luke and I have a lot of planning to do, and I’m getting a bit nervous about the trip. I don’t feel very prepared, but I’m willing to jump right into it! For now, I’ll focus on spending the holidays with family and friends. I hope you all do the same and remember those that may not have a family or be able to see their families over the holidays. Much love—
